When did you start blogging, and what prompted your decision to go ahead?

I started www.rubypluslottie.co.uk in March 2013; my aim was to create some wonderful memories for my girls, and have a little place on the Internet to raise awareness of certain causes and charities that are close to my heart.

Does blogging ‘connect’ to your working life in anyway?

Right now my job in life is to be a full time stay at home mother, the blog allows me to share family life and connect with other mums in similar situations. I have made some really great friends through blogging, social media and the community that surrounds it.

Tell us about your personal top three posts from your blog...

Wow, that's a difficult question...the ones that probabally stick out for me the most are the two posts that I wrote last year where I published letters to both of my girls on their birthdays; they were raw, heartfelt and emotional to write. I also plucked up the courage to write an intimate post about my own personal breastfeeding journey, I have been told that it has helped quite a few women, which makes me incredibly proud as breastfeeding is something that I was adamant that I wasn't going to do.

What do you look for when reading other blogs?

I tend to be drawn to other parenting blogs, and people that I can relate to. I love blogs that have really great pictures and inspiring posts.

I cannot stand blogs that are jam packed full or paid reviews without much real content. I find some people will review absolutely anything that they can have for free, whether it is releavant to their audience or not. Don't get me wrong, reviews are fine, but it should not be the sole purpose of a blog.

How do your family and friends feel about your blogging habit?

My family and friends are really supportive of the blog; it is a great way for them to keep track of what we are up to, and they particularly like the fact that they get to see all of our family photos.

I am always very concious of the fact that my family are regular readers, which makes me filter the content, and often prevents me from posting things that I otherwise might if the blog was more anonymous.

What do you hope your kids will make of the blog one day?

I hope that the girls will look back and treasure the wonderful memories that we have made together through the activities that I have blogged about. The blog has given us opportunities that we wouldn't have had otherwise; it has also encouraged me to be creative in our play and spend more time thinking of fun activities that we can do together, that will also make a great read.

What do you enjoy about being a Trusted Blogger Club member?

I am so grateful and honoured to have been asked to be trusted blogger, although I feel a little guilty that I do not write as often as I should, I guess this is a consequence of having such a busy family life.

The Trusted Bloggers Club gives me the opportuniy to write about subjects that I feel particularly passionate about, but cannot share on my own parenting blog. I have a few post in the pipeline so watch this space.

There is a real community spirit surrounding the trusted bloggers, and we have some really interesting chats through social media.

You can only write one more post on your own blog; what would the topic be?

It would definitely be a post to thank all of my lovely readers, blogger friends and generally everyone that has made the blog possible. It has been a really rewarding experience and one that has made a huge impact on our lives.
