The Invasion of the Smartphone

Smartphones have now become a staple of everyday life, they fit in your pocket and give you access to every inch of the world. In our survey 55% of parents questioned stated that they let their children use a smartphone or tablet.

Negative Impacts of Smartphone Use

69% of parents questioned felt that use of a smartphone or tablet would, or might, help to disconnect a baby from their relationship with their parents, this may convince parents that the benefits of smartphones are outweighed by the negatives. Our survey also suggests that parents believe that smartphones impact negatively on social and communication skills.

Parents were also rightfully concerned over use of a smartphone and the time spent with it in your hands! 81% of respondents believed that youngsters used smartphones and tablets too much and spent too much time with them.

The Hands of Time

Whilst 45% questioned never let their children use a smartphone or tablet, around 1 in 7 of parents who answered our survey let their children spend 4 or more hours a day with a smartphone in their hands.
