Rhymes with Lots of Verses

The Wheels on the Bus

A great rhyme for actions, and for singing an endless abundance of verses. An ideal distraction when boredom sets in on a long car journey. You could try making up your own verses too, to make it personal to your baby's family or friends.

The wheels on the bus go round and round,
Round and round, round and round,
The wheels on the bus go round and round,
All day long.

Additional verses:

The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish,
Swish, swish, swish,
The wipers on the bus go swish, swish, swish,
All day long.

The horn on the bus goes beep, beep, beep...

The children on the bus go up and down...

The babies on the bus go wah, wah, wah...

The mummies on the bus go chatter, chatter, chatter...

The daddies on the bus go snore, snore, snore...

The grannies on the bus go knit, knit, knit...

The conductor on the bus goes "tickets", "tickets", "tickets"...

Old MacDonald had a Farm

A brilliant rhyme for teaching your baby about the noises animals make. Keep going with the verses, trying to think of as many animals as you can. This often needs some brainpower from you and it can result in some obscure sounds that your baby will find funny. As your baby grows, let them lead the song by asking them what animals Old MacDonald has in his farm, or the zoo, or wherever their imagination takes you. Monkeys, lions, crocodiles and even dinosaurs can often make an appearance. This just adds to the fun and is great for developing communication between you both.

Old MacDonald had a farm,
E, I, E, I, O!
And on that farm he had a cow,
E, I, E, I, O!
With a "moo, moo" here and a "moo, moo" there,
Here a "moo", there a "moo" everywhere a "moo, moo!"
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E, I, E, I, O!

For additional verses simply replace the animal name and noises.
